Welcome to this website of a collector and producer of rhythm and blues group (doowop) music. Recently I've released a cd called the (50th Anniversary of Sonny Til and the Orioles) It contains his very last recordings from 1981 with the authentic type of sound that you know and love. Consisting of hammond organ , steel guitar, and standup bass and accoustic piano similar to the way his songs were recorded in the early 1950's. It contains songs that are the standard type such as: I had the craziest dream, Manhattan, Magic Moon (claire Delune), Walking by the River, Needless, Skylark, A G I Wish, What do you know about Love, RoseAnn of Charing cross, May that day never Come. It Also contains: Sonny Til touring with George Holmes Inkspots group in 1976 in Australia and New Zealand. He sang fine versions of If I didn't Care, and Blueberry Hill. Also some of the songs such as To each his own etc were led by George Grant of the Castelles fame with his rich tenor lead. You also get to enjoy a live interview with : Sonny Til by Charlie Horner at WXPN in Phila. in 1980. This is the same Sonny Til who is considered the grandaddy of all r&b groups that did: Crying in the Chapel, Tell Me So and It's too soon to Know. Also available my first cd featuring : Annette Smith who sang lead on the later 1960's CHANTELS doowop group such songs as : Look in my eyes, Summertime. Also included in this package are: Annette and Rendezvous extended version of MOONLIGHT plus 23 other great early 1950 type group collectors items such as : James Quintet and Dozier Boys. For you vinyl lovers I sell on lp's and 45's of pioneer type r&b groups and some blues artists such as: Larks, Dudroppers, 4 Tunes, Shadows, Beavers, 5 Bills, 4 Bars, Dreamers, Jumpin Jacks , Big Bill Dotson, Roy Hawkins etc.click the links for my other sites starting at the top link Contact me for postage and special prices for stores, dealers, distributors.
